Multitude Monday

Monday, April 30, 2012

I began this journal of gratitude on April 13, 2011 after being inspired by Ann Voskamp's A Thousand Gifts. The daily discipline of looking for God's gifts in my life has changed me. Over the past year, my family has had many challenges. There were some days when it was very difficult to feel thankful as I struggled to see past my circumstance. But now I'm finding that even on the hardest days, I choose to focus on the countless blessings God has provided and it changes my perspective. One thousand gifts began with one and I'm still counting.

I am thankful:
4/16
989. that Anlon enjoys his stickers so much
4/17
990. for my new friend Liskula and her beautiful daughter Liv
4/18
991. for the feeling of being in God's will right now
992. to be able to learn from other mothers

4/19
993. for Vipul's safe landing
994. for Robyn's words that always encourage and inspire me to be the best mother I can be
995. for my mother-in-law's sweet message

4/20
996. for the sweet little boy with braces on both legs who smiled and patiently waited for other children to go first

4/21
997. for the celebration of Carolina and baby boy Briggs #3

998. for Anlon's excitement of seeing my mom and the beach
999. that he fell asleep by 9 pm (which is early for travel sleep)

4/22
1000. for the special bond Anlon and his Nana have developed
1001. for the sweet couple that offered to take this picture of us
1002. for my mom's beautiful prayer
1003. for God's creation that reveals His majesty
4/23
1004. for the thoughtful gifts my mom bought for Anlon
1005. that Anlon was absolutely in heaven watching the cars driving on the beach and must have said "cars vroom" 100 times!
1006. that Anlon is so comfortable in water and is not afraid to go under
1007. that my mom will be able to retire this year and move to the beach - WOW!

I can't believe its been over a year since you've started Multitude Mondays! It is truly an accomplishment to finish even though I'm sure its been difficult at times along the way.

I have really enjoyed reading the things you are thankful for and how you often take pictures to remember the moment. I am SO blessed by reading your blog, now I just hope you continue to blog even after MM! :)

My favorite is Anlon on the green chair! What a goof! :) How fun that your mom will be living at the beach! I'm sure many memories will be made there. #991 is a hard one sometimes... especially when being in God's will doesn't mean what we thought it would mean. I have had my struggles with that this week. I am confident there is no better place to be, but that doesn't mean I don't feel sadness either. God hears those cries too. I pray you and Vipul both feel peace about that today and everyday. Love you!
